Islamic art is art produced from the 7th Century onwards by artists who resided within culturally Islamic territories. The artists does not necessarily have to be Muslim for his art to be classified as Islamic, however. Forms of Islamic art include calligraphy, ceramics, painting and architecture.

Mughal painting was developed during the Mughal Empire in India during the 16th to 19th Centuries. Mughal painting usually consists of miniatures for folios or as book illustrations.

Typically both forms of art depict scenes of battles, court life, wildlife and hunting, as well as Muslim or Hindu epics and fables.
